What CookieHub is

A consent management platform: what it does on your website, what is included free and what is paid, and the products around it.

CookieHub is a consent management platform (CMP). It asks your website's visitors for consent to cookies and other tracking, keeps the cookies and tracking that need consent from running until they have it, records each choice, and gives you a Dashboard to configure all of it. It helps websites comply with privacy regulations around the world, including the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and Brazil's LGPD.

Consent management is the whole of that: obtaining and managing a visitor's consent for cookies and other tracking technologies, and being able to show afterwards what they agreed to. Consent management explains the pieces; this page is about what CookieHub provides.

What CookieHub does

  • Shows a consent dialog. Visitors see it on their first visit and can change their choices later in its preference center. Its texts, colours, position and languages are set in the Dashboard. See Customization.
  • Sorts cookies into categories. Every cookie belongs to one of five cookie categories; visitors consent per category.
  • Scans your website for cookies. The cookie scanner crawls your website when you add a domain and once a month after that, finds the cookies in use, suggests a category for each and keeps the cookie declaration up to date. See Cookie scans.
  • Blocks tracking until consent. Automatic cookie blocking delays the scripts of commonly used services until the visitor has allowed their category. See Automatic cookie blocking.
  • Publishes a cookie declaration. A list of the cookies on your website, by category, that visitors can read in the consent dialog or on a page of your website. See Cookie declaration.
  • Adapts to the visitor's region. Which consent type applies, which legal framework is active and which texts are shown can differ by region, detected from the visitor's IP address. See Regions.
  • Records consent. With the consent log enabled, each visitor's choices are stored, pseudonymously, so you can demonstrate consent. See Consent log.
  • Passes consent on. CookieHub implements Google Consent Mode, the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) and IAB GPP, and integrates with tools such as Meta Pixel and HubSpot, so that they too respect the visitor's choices. See Compliance and Integrations.

Installing it

CookieHub runs on your website as a script. You add it with the HTML tag, through Google Tag Manager, or with the app or plugin for your platform: WordPress, Wix, Shopify and others. Which method to choose, and how, is under Install.

Free and paid

A domain runs CookieHub on the Free plan or on a paid subscription (Starter, Basic, Business or Enterprise), and one account can hold both kinds. Every plan includes the consent dialog, the cookie declaration, cookie and services blocking, Google Consent Mode v2 and proof of consent, with consent records kept for 12 months. What the paid plans add, in outline:

  • Starter and up: automated scans and custom CSS.
  • Basic and up: monthly scans, scanning of sub-domains, three pre-built templates and the dialog in 62 languages.
  • Business and up: scanning behind a login, DSAR management, removing the CookieHub branding, configuration through the API, the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework and enterprise single sign-on.
  • Enterprise: weekly scans and the highest session limits.

The plans differ above all in the sessions they include each month and the number of pages the scanner covers. The current matrix and prices are on the pricing page; Subscriptions & pricing explains sessions and limits.

The products

CookieHub CMP is the consent management platform these pages describe: the consent dialog and everything that installs or integrates it, including the Dashboard, the widget, the JavaScript API, the apps and plugins.

DSAR handles data subject access requests: a widget your visitors use to submit requests under GDPR, CCPA and similar laws, and a portal in the Dashboard where you work through them. See DSAR.

The Privacy policy generator writes a privacy policy for your website from a structured form about your organisation and how it handles data. It is a separate product at privacypolicy.cookiehub.com.
